3 NightHawk Robotics Teams Qualified for State Championships

The 4 NightHawk Robotics teams have been busy these past 2 Saturdays with tournaments in San Diego and Riverside where we have competed against 36 teams at each event. The results of the past 2 Saturdays are nothing short of spectacular:
• All 4 of our teams have easily made the playoffs at each tournament
• Team 569D has earned 2nd place at each of the last 2 tournaments
• Teams 569A & 569B earned 2nd place last Saturday in San Diego along with Team 569D as they were all on the same alliance.
• Team 569D is in the top 10 in all of California in the Robot Skills Challenge (where teams have 1 minute to drive their robot for the highest score and one minute to run an autonomous program for the highest score).
And finally, drumroll please…
• Team 569D WON the Excellence Award last week in San Diego
AND
• Team 569C WON the Excellence Award this week in Riverside
The Excellence Award is the TOP AWARD you can win at a robotics tournament. It is even more prestigious than winning the actual event as it takes all aspects of the all-day tournaments into consideration including; how you perform during qualification matches, in the playoffs, in the skills challenges, during your interview with the judges, and a thorough examination of your Engineering Notebook. Excellence Awards are difficult to come by so to win 2 in consecutive weeks is one of the more impressive feats in our history!!
• Now Teams 569A, 569C, and 569D have qualified for the State Championship in March! Please extend them a huge congratulations.
