Poway Tournament
On December 10, 2011 3 MVHS robotics teams traveled to Poway High School to compete in their second Robotics Tournament of the year. There were 42 teams from all over Southern California there to compete. The goal once again was to get as many of your color balls and barrels in the goals around the field as possible.
Team 569 breezed through the qualifying rounds at 5 and 0 and were able to select the two other MVHS teams to make up an all MVHS alliance. This team had one of the most dominating robots at the event and as a result were awarded the Driver Skills Award as well as the Amaze Award. This all MVHS alliance performed very well, but was unfortunately knocked out in the quarterfinals.
Team 569B had an extremely effective robot and were able to score very quickly and easily. They fought hard all day and ended up on the all MVHS alliance. Unfortunately they were knocked out in the quarterfinals.
Team 569 C had a very impressive robot and impressed the judges with their CAD drawings as well as their programming skills. As a result they won the Think Award. Again they were part of the all MVHS alliance that was knocked out in the quarterfinals.
